Safari holidays have increased in popularity over the last decade or so and more and more people are choosing to step away from the usual beach holiday and book a safari holiday package. Safari holidays can be fantastic fun for the whole holiday but years ago they were so expensive that not many people could afford to go on them. As they were not as popular and there was little competition, safari companies could pretty much charge what they wanted too.
Over the last decade or so Africa has become a very popular tourist destination. With TV series like “Africa” and “Planet Earth” presented by the marvellous Sir David Attenborough, hitting our screen, it has opened up our eyes to another world and one which many of us want to now try and explore more of.
Whilst historically destinations such as Egypt and Tunisia were often favoured, Africa has certainly sparked interest for holidays in the heart of the continent and the sales figures show this. Following the release of the TV series “Africa”, one company stated that the sales of safari trips in Africa had increased by nearly 40%!
Over time safari holidays are thought to increase even more in popularity and as advances in transportation and technology continues to improve, it may make it easier for more and more people to go.
