Whether you are a seasoned photographer or just starting out there is no better place to go to capture some truly amazing sights than on safari. The incredible animals teamed with the breath-taking surrounds give you the ultimate subject matter for some truly stunning photographs.
There are some things to consider whilst going on safari as a photographer to make the most out of your trip.
Get rid of the black camera bag – this can be tricky as most camera bags are black however the material being dark will heat up very quickly and could easily damage your equipment. Switching to a light coloured carry bag could help to keep things a little cooler.
Take a shower cap or clear food bags – on safari things can get pretty dusty and sandy so it’s important to protect your camera using a clear plastic, shower caps are perfect for this and you may even be able to take pictures with the cap still on.
Who’s on your trip – this can sound a little harsh but if you’re wanting to take time to capture some one-off shots you may want to consider going out on trips alone or with a very small group. It’s important to consider safety so you will of course need a guide however you may want to avoid large groups as you are unlikely to get a good enough view for long enough to get the photos that you need.
